Erika Norwood, Program Officer
Erika Norwood joined Gray Matters Capital and Gray Ghost Ventures in 2006. Since joining, she has worked across investment teams and foundation leadership, under the International Education Initiative, to support and expand the company’s impact investing efforts and the shared mission to increase educating opportunities for low-income families in the developing world. Erika’s experience in business development spans across internal operations, marketing, strategic partnerships and program development. Most recently, Erika worked alongside the Foundation’s Executive Director to lead global marketing and outreach initiatives, strengthening the Foundation’s presence and reputation, both domestically and abroad, in the international education and social enterprise sectors.
Erika also played a central role in developing and launching the Enterprising Schools Network, a practitioner-led online platform connecting stakeholders and practitioners working to support affordable private schools across the world. Prior to joining the foundation, Erika worked under the Managing Director to support start-up operations for the Indian School Finance Company.
Prior to joining the Gray Ghost Ventures Enterprises, Erika served as a business associate at the Small Business Development Center and Atlanta-based consulting firm NMBS advising clients on enterprise development spanning across consumer segmenting, product development and market and risk analysis. As a devout business consultant and entrepreneur, Erika has started two successful enterprises that provide business planning and consulting to local organizations and currently serves on the advisory board of All Grown Up, Inc. Erika received her undergraduate degree in International Business and is currently pursuing an MBA in International Business at the Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.
